Finished! I finally got a chance to read the last book in Matthew MElligott's Franklinstein trio. What a great read! I found this one the most suspenseful, yet also the most humorous. Be sure you check out all the little drawings and insets - great humor is hiding! Oh, but I do wish there were more books in this series!
This mystery reminded me a lot of the "39 Clues" series, especially as the clues involved traveling across London to visit important sites concerning Shakespeare. The action started very slowly, and maybe too slow for many readers, but the second half moved quickly and left me longing for the sequel.
When I opened this book and realized it centered around an 8th grade girl, I wasn't sure what to expect. Yes it is full of "girl drama" and will be added to my list of "chick lit" books. But it has more too! Hamlet is dealing with a genius of a little sister, who is going to school with her to be 'socialized' and attends college classes in the afternoon, and she's only 7! Hamlet's parents are both professors in Shakespearean literature, complete with dressing the part daily. Hamlet just wants to be ordinary! This is a great story about family, friends, peers, and finding your talents. I highly recommend this one!
This is a sweet and magical story! William is coping with feelings about his papa leaving the family, when mama announces they are going to get a dog (something his papa never allowed). Only they come home from the shelter with FOUR dogs - and the magic has just begun. This one is worth reading!
