Wow! I read this one straight through thanks to a student recommendation! This verse novel (think poetry, diary, fast read) is a touching insight into the life of Ha, a refugee from Vietnam. It's hard to explain, but so worth your time! Read it!
If you like "Diary of a Wimpy Kid", you should try "Justin Case". He's funny, a little wimpy, and trying soooo hard to be brave! This book is written like a diary all the way through.
If you like adventure - what could be better than a time machine adventure to the Paleozoic era? T-rex, Triceratops, Brontosaurs, and more! Will they make it back alive?
If you like books that keep you wondering, this might be perfect for you! I thought I had this book all figured out, until I got to the last few chapters and I realized I was totally wrong! Definitely a unique read!
"Fake Mustache" has got to be the craziest book I have read in a long time. A perfect book to read in October- as the subtitle is "How Jodie O'Rodeo and her wonder horse (and some nerdy kid) saved the U.S. presidential election from a mad genius criminal mastermind." Angleberger has done it again!
"Small Medium at Large" is a first novel for Joanne Levy, and you will want to watch for more books by this author. This story is funny and heartwarming, as Lilah listens to the ghosts in her life, has her first crush, schemes to get her dad dating, and experiences 'being 12'. Fifth grade girls - you will want to read this one!
This is a series of short, strange adventures in the ' Library of Doom'. Good for kids who like something scary, but not too long.
Some very funny twists on familiar fairy tales. You will love reading about these princesses with attitude! I think "The Clumsy Princess" and "Double Dragons"are my favorites.
Just got a new series in - each book focuses on a different war. All fiction stories, based on real wars. Quick reads!
This book is quite absurd! (a great word - why don't you look it up?) a little hard to read - it's a mixture of print and cursive. But hilarious! Can't wait to see what kids think of it.
What a wonderful, playful look at alphabet books. This is sure to be a favorite soon!
This interesting nonfiction book is full of hope. It's a true story of 10 dogs that were given a new leash on life - a chance to be in the circus.
