This book won't disappoint those who love adventure and fantasy. My only disappointment was that it doesn't stand alone - we are left hanging at the end, waiting for a sequel.
What would you do if you found a cute little griffin pup in your bedroom? And it could talk! Of course you would get it some food! COW (interpretation: hamburger meat). But what if there are more - and they are terrorizing the town. You need to find help - but who will believe you?

Saffy's Angel is part of a whole series of books by Hilary McKay. They are funny and touching stories about a family of unique characters. I can think of a few girls who will enjoy this one.
This is a nice work of historical fiction. Patricia Reilly Giff creates characters that feel like old friends. This is a story of a brother and sister separated by war, and longing for a home of their own. I loved the soup recipes included throughout the book to help illustrate the story.
I just finished a sweet/sad novel for girls. "Snao" by Alison McGhee is about best friends Edwina (Eddie) and Sally. They have been BFFs since 2nd grade. But something strange is happening this summer, and Sally doesn't want to talk about it. Will their friendship survive?
I have been on a "time travel" kick lately. Did you know our library has almost 200 books that include time travel???
"Tanglewreck" is an advanced level that will catch the attention of those who love Harry Potter, 100 Cupboards, Lemony Snicket, and The Golden Compass trilogy.
