Seven boxes of new books arrived this week and I can't resist some of the new titles!
Loved "Big Mean Mike"! I read this one to Ready Set Go kids and we all adored the bunnies, the big bad dogs, and especially the monster trucks!
In kinder and first grade we have begun the 2x2 list and really enjoyed "Blackout". The classes have been making book trailers for this one. I will try to post some of these soon.
Just got a biography about Mo Willems- a hugely popular author, especially for the younger ones. We adore Pigeon, Elephant & Piggie, and Knufgle Bunny. I wish he was still doing author visits.
The books I predict will be flying off the shelves tomorrow is the brand new set of 15 Ripleys Believe It or Not books - everything from bizarre bodies to creepy creatures. I love that its a set of smaller volumes so that more children can enjoy them, instead of only one student getting the huge book.
One last book, the one that dragged me away from my adult novel. I am reading Candace Fleming's newest chapter book - "On the Day I Died". Probably best for the older readers at our school and a great companion to "How They Croaked". This will appeal to those readers who can't get enough of the scary stories.
