I will be the first to admit that I am a dog person, and I rarely read cat books. Silly, right?
I picked this up to read because it is on our 4th grade battle of the books list this year.
What I found was a book about the power of story, both in positive and negative ways. Oona is a storyteller, just like her father was. She tells 'whoppers' to get out of trouble, to calm her fears, to calm her brother, and to cope with the sadness of losing her father.
I want to recommend this one to our fourth grade teachers as a read aloud, with its great tips about telling your story at the end.
